QUEENS CORNER

Annaleise Dunlap

Hometown: Saint Albans, WV

Hey y’all! I am Annaleise Dunlap, and I am your Miss West Virginia High School Rodeo Queen. I am 17 years old and a senior at Saint Albans High School.  I have been on the West Virginia High School Rodeo Team for four years, and my events include: Light Rifle, Barrel Racing, and Pole Bending. I am a National Qualifier in the Light Rifle Event.

Outside of rodeo, I am active at my Dad’s barn, Hoofbeats & Heartbeats Stables. We teach riding lessons, do trail rides, and also foster and rehab horses for the West Virginia Horse Network, a local Horse Rescue, that I am passionate about. I also work full time besides being a student, and enjoy my job as a waitress.

After High School I plan to go to Marshall University to get my B.S. in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Overall, I am beyond thankful for all the people who have helped me achieve my goals, even when some were larger that I could imagine and dreamed of taking on. I want to especially thank my Dad and my barn family who have helped me accomplish my goals.

As Queen this year, I hope to inspire the younger kids in achieving their goals, so they don’t have it handed to them. It makes the reward a lot bigger, when you know you’ve put the drive and determination in to accomplish it. I also want to be more public than previous Queen’s and help drive sponsorship to the association through News Interviews, Radio Interviews, and helping bring more attention to this amazing organization, so that it can continue to grow, and drive more membership and help future youth.
